Jack Avery Testifies He’s ‘Very Scared’ of Ex Accused of Murder Plot, Wins Sole Custody of Daughter
Jack Avery has won a five-year restraining order and sole physical custody of his daughter after telling a Los Angeles judge he was very scared of her mother, Gabriela Gonzalez. The judge found that Gonzalez’s behaviour had caused Avery emotional harm and that the child was a direct victim of abuse, while allowing for professionally monitored visits once a criminal protective order permits contact.
Avery testified that an FBI warning about an alleged plot to kill him fuelled severe anxiety and led him to miss more than 25 visits with his daughter. Prosecutors allege Gonzalez and her former boyfriend discussed using bitcoin to hire a hit man and make the killing look like an accident; her father is accused of sending $10,000 to finance the plan. Gonzalez has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and solicitation of murder.
