Jack Osbourne gives rare update on MS battle 14 years after diagnosis: ‘Don’t f–king give me your pity’
Jack Osbourne says he sometimes feels like a “fraud” within the multiple sclerosis community because his illness has affected him less severely than it has others. Speaking on the “MeSsy” podcast, he described resenting pity and being defined by MS, while acknowledging that living with the condition has changed him mentally, physically and emotionally.
Diagnosed 14 years ago, Osbourne said he has been off MS medication for about eight years after stopping during his 2019 divorce, when his health insurance was invalid. He kept up medical appointments and MRI scans, and said symptoms began appearing around last year, including a widespread “road rash” sensation that makes wearing clothes uncomfortable. He also said the challenges have prompted him to take life more seriously; podcast host Christina Applegate joked that she no longer has MS after revealing she had been misdiagnosed.
