Jack Reynor has joined Lily James in "Seasons", a horror thriller from Drew Hancock, the writer-director behind "Companion", being made for Amazon MGM Studios. Production is set to begin in September and will take place in Ireland, with Reynor playing opposite James as a married couple whose dream ranch purchase turns nightmarish. The film is notable for its high-profile horror backing and its origins in online storytelling, reflecting the growing trend of adapting viral internet fiction for the screen.
Hancock adapted the script from a book by Matt and Harrison Query, itself based on a short story Matt Query originally posted on Reddit, in which a couple discover their new land is inhabited by ancient spirits demanding ever-darker seasonal rituals for their survival. The project is being produced by 21 Laps (Shawn Levy, Dan Levine), Blumhouse Atomic Monster (Jason Blum, Michael Clear) and 12:01 Films (Scott Glassgold), marking the third collaboration between 21 Laps and Blumhouse Atomic Monster following films such as "Backrooms". Reynor, fresh off "The Mummy" and "Citadel" season two, will next appear in "Presumed Innocent" and Gareth Evans' "A Colt Is My Passport" remake.
