Jack White is a guitarist, singer and music producer best known for his work with alternative rock band The White Stripes, which became one of the most influential rock groups of the 21st century. The Raconteurs is another band he formed with singer and guitarist Brendan Benson, alongside bassist Jack Lawrence and drummer Patrick Keeler, which released successful albums during the 2000s.

The Raconteurs had not performed together for seven years, making reunions significant for fans who had waited a considerable time to see the band play live again. During this period, Jack White maintained a prolific solo career with multiple album releases and extensive touring, whilst his bandmates pursued their own musical projects separately.

The reunion coincides with Third Man Records announcing a special 20th anniversary release celebrating The Raconteurs' debut album. The package will include previously unreleased material such as demos, alternate takes and a recording of the band's first ever live performance, which took place in Liverpool in 2006.
