Jake Gyllenhaal's 2024 remake of Road House is enjoying a resurgence on Amazon Prime Video, currently sitting at number eight on the platform's top 10 chart in the US, according to tracking site FlixPatrol. The film, directed by Doug Liman and based on the 1989 Patrick Swayze cult classic, bypassed a cinema release and went straight to streaming, yet has racked up strong viewing figures thanks to its combination of fast-paced action and star performances.

The story follows Dalton, a former UFC fighter played by Gyllenhaal, who takes a job as a bouncer at a roadhouse only to discover the situation is far more dangerous than expected. Gyllenhaal reportedly underwent a significant physical transformation for the role and worked on brutal, martial-arts-inspired fight choreography, while UFC star Conor McGregor featured as the film's antagonist. Road House now shares space on Prime Video's top 10 alongside titles such as Project Hail Mary, The Sheep Detectives, Superman and World War Z.
