New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson has discussed Taylor Swift's high-profile wedding at Madison Square Garden and speculated that his team's historic NBA championship run may have influenced the singer's choice of venue, though he stressed this was likely coincidental given how far in advance weddings are typically planned. Speaking at Variety's inaugural Sports & Entertainment Studio in New York, Brunson said he learned of reports that the Knicks' starting five had been invited to the Swift-Travis Kelce wedding the same way everyone else did, online, and confirmed he did not attend.

Brunson also addressed Swift's presence courtside at Game 4 of the NBA Finals, calling it "really cool" despite some Knicks fans' criticism after she had previously supported Kelce, an Ohio native, when he backed the rival Cleveland Cavaliers. The Knicks won their first NBA title in 53 years this season, and Brunson said he remained unsure whether the team would visit the Trump White House, a decision reportedly hinted at by owner James Dolan. The event also featured other sports figures including Russell Wilson, Jimmie Johnson and Jay Williams, and centred partly on an Athlete Council helping young athletes manage their finances.
