Daniel Craig's final James Bond outing, No Time to Die, has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity, ranking among the world's most-watched films on VOD despite currently lacking a US streaming home. The renewed interest comes during a busy year for the franchise, as Amazon works on casting the next actor to play 007 and prepares to begin a second round of auditions, following the earlier release of the video game 007 First Light in May.

Craig played Bond across five films over 15 years, debuting in Casino Royale in 2006 before bowing out in 2021's No Time to Die, which co-stars Ana de Armas and marked the character's first definitive on-screen death. Former casting director Debbie McWilliams has poured cold water on fan-favoured contenders Jacob Elordi and Callum Turner, while the video game's star Patrick Gibson has also been touted by fans, though he is considered unlikely to land the role. No names for the new auditions have yet been confirmed.
