Guy Ritchie’s 2015 Cold War spy film The Man from U.N.C.L.E., starring Henry Cavill, is now streaming on Netflix in the United States. The film pairs Cavill’s CIA agent Napoleon Solo with Armie Hammer’s KGB operative Illya Kuryakin, who must work together to stop a criminal organisation pursuing nuclear weapons technology.

Despite its stylish action, strong cast and apparent franchise ambitions, the film underperformed commercially on release. Made for about $75 million, it earned $107 million worldwide, but has since developed a cult following; its Rotten Tomatoes audience score is 73%, compared with a 68% critics’ rating. It also stars Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Debicki, Jared Harris and Hugh Grant, and is available to rent or buy digitally on several platforms.
