James Bond Shocker: Robert Pattinson and Nicholas Hoult Late Contenders for 007 After Auditioning for Denis Villeneuve

Robert Pattinson and Nicholas Hoult have screen-tested for the role of James Bond, adding two high-profile British actors to the pool of reported contenders. The casting is a key step in developing the next Bond film, which Amazon MGM Studios has made a priority under new producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman.

Denis Villeneuve, who will direct the film, has worked with Pattinson on the upcoming “Dune: Part Three”. Other names linked to the role include Callum Turner, Josh O’Connor and Jack Lowden; Harry Styles has reportedly discussed it, while Theo James remains in consideration. Steven Knight is writing the script, and Amazon declined to comment on the casting reports.
