James Ellis Ford, the acclaimed producer behind numerous major UK albums, has shared a new track called "The Ever After" from his forthcoming second solo album. The song is notable for having been written and recorded while Ford was undergoing chemotherapy for acute myeloid leukaemia, with the artist describing the record as an attempt to focus on positivity during treatment.

"The Ever After" is a synthpop track that follows lead single "Overtones" from the album Lost In Another World, due for release on 14 August via Domino. Ford, previously one half of dance duo Simian Mobile Disco, recorded the entire album alone in a hospital bed, and has said the song was inspired by his eight-year-old son Frank's ability to bring joy and hope into difficult circumstances.
