James Gunn Officially Confirms Robert Pattinson’s Batman Replacement

James Gunn has confirmed that the DC Universe has not yet cast its Batman, but expects casting to begin before long. The choice will fill the role in *Batman: The Brave and the Bold*, a project set in the DCU and separate from Robert Pattinson’s Batman films.

Speaking on the *Suicide Squad* podcast, Gunn said he would consider any actor, even someone who had previously had a small role in *The Suicide Squad*. He said he wants to find the best fit for the character rather than automatically choosing a major film star. The film, which was announced with Andy Muschietti set to direct, has no release date.
