Jamie Lee Curtis Leaning on “Love and Service” in Honoring the Late Rob and Michele Reiner: “Every Day With Them Was Activism”
Jamie Lee Curtis will receive the inaugural Michele and Rob Reiner Champion for Change Award at the Children’s Institute’s Cape & Gown Gala on 8 November. She says the event should celebrate the couple’s lives and activism, and sees the award as a way to carry forward their commitment to service.
The award was created by the Children’s Institute, its president and CEO Martine Singer, Michele Reiner’s sister, and the couple’s children, Jake and Romy. It recognises the Reiners’ work to improve the lives of children and families and strengthen communities; Curtis says their advocacy was present in everyday life. The 120-year-old Los Angeles institution was supported by the Reiners for years.
