Jamie T has said that revisiting old voice memos while making his sixth album, ‘Ghosts (100 Days Of Mourning)’, helped him process difficult periods in his career and feel more positive about his future. Speaking backstage at Reading 2026 after a surprise set, he said he had emerged from burnout and uncertainty feeling happier, safer and proud of the new record.

The album, due on 9 October, draws on unfinished sketches and ideas accumulated across his career, allowing him to revisit and complete material that had repeatedly resurfaced. Treays said he felt something had changed after his 2023 Finsbury Park show and recognised that music had been taking too great a toll on his mental health, but he now hopes to continue performing; he returned to Reading with fan favourites and recent single ‘3310’.
