Jason Blum Hosting Special ‘Paranormal Activity’ Performance On Broadway Next Week
Blumhouse founder Jason Blum is set to host a special performance of the stage play "Paranormal Activity" on Broadway, appearing on Wednesday 26 August at the August Wilson Theatre. Blum, who produces the show, is best known for the found-footage horror film franchise on which it is based, and the event highlights the growing crossover between the Blumhouse horror brand and live theatre. It also comes as an eighth instalment of the "Paranormal Activity" film series, produced with Atomic Monster and Paramount Pictures, is due in cinemas next summer.
The play opens the night before Blum's hosted performance, following more than a week of previews, and is written by Levi Holloway and directed by Felix Barrett. It originated at Leeds Playhouse in 2024 before transferring to London's West End, where it earned a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for Best Entertainment or Comedy Play, and stars Travis A. Knight and Cher Álvarez alongside Shannon Cochran and Eva Kaminsky in a limited 20-week Broadway run. The original film franchise it draws on has grossed more than $900 million worldwide at the box office.
