Philadelphia-based ambient composer Jason Calhoun has released "enjoy losing," the latest single from his forthcoming fifth album for Dear Life Records, revelations of divine love. The track continues a run of previews for the record and reflects Calhoun's ongoing exploration of blending musical practice with personal and spiritual reflection, this time drawing on an unlikely source: playing chess on his phone.

Calhoun has said he approached chess through trial and error rather than studying theory, and came to appreciate the game even while losing, a mindset he links to his creative and spiritual process. He describes the new song, made using a contact mic and a rosary, as embodying patience and an openness to difficulty. "enjoy losing" follows earlier previews "tolstoy tatsoi," "what we deserve" and "at home," with revelations of divine love due out on 7 August via Dear Life Records.
