Jason Sudeikis Sets Up ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4: “It’s Getting Back To Doing What He Loves”

Apple TV's Ted Lasso is returning for a fourth season, more than three years after the show last aired, with star Jason Sudeikis discussing how the beloved coach is drawn back into football. The Season 4 premiere finds Ted living quietly in Kansas City, working a modest job at a grocery store to stay close to his son Henry, before old friends Rebecca, Leslie and Keeley turn up unannounced to change his path.

The trio ask Ted to coach their new women's team, an offer he initially turns down, but after reflecting on his time in Richmond he changes his mind and reaches out to his ex-partner Michelle to join him in England. This marks Ted's first experience coaching a women's side, with the squad including new characters such as Boots, twins Niamh and Siobhan, and Margy and her girlfriend Mady, alongside assistant coach Alice Chilton, who will have been training the team before his arrival. Sudeikis told Deadline the storyline sees Ted "getting back to doing what he loves" after depriving himself of it.
