Javier Bardem, Marion Cotillard & Vanessa Redgrave Join Animated Movie ‘The Turning Door’
Oscar winners Javier Bardem, Marion Cotillard and Vanessa Redgrave are set to voice starring roles in "The Turning Door", an upcoming family fantasy animation written and directed by filmmaker and artist Nicholas Ashe Bateman. The high-profile casting adds further weight to an already starry voice ensemble for the independently produced project, which is currently in production and being sold internationally by Mister Smith Entertainment ahead of the TIFF market.
Also joining the cast are Swedish composer Anna von Hausswolff and newcomer Pippa Kelly, who will voice young heroine Ariadlyn, alongside previously announced cast members Alicia Vikander, Jamie Dornan, Jodie Turner-Smith, Bill Nighy and Gillian Anderson. The story follows a girl who discovers a mysterious door in her parents' closet leading to a magical realm called The Turning, and features original songs written by Claire Givens and Bateman, which the cast will perform themselves. The film is produced by Christine D'Souza, Hunter Hall and Bateman for Maere Studios, and Laura Rister for Esme Grace Pictures, with Mister Smith Entertainment handling international sales and co-repping domestic rights with After Hours.
