Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville has released "Man on the Run," a documentary exploring Paul McCartney's career transformation following the Beatles' breakup. The film, now available on Amazon Prime, traces McCartney's journey from the world's most famous band member to solo artist and Wings frontman between 1968 and 1980, examining both his artistic reinvention and the personal and professional challenges he faced during this pivotal period. The documentary premiered at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles on 28 September, with McCartney participating in a subsequent Q&A session.

The film features previously unreleased footage of McCartney, his family, and Wings, alongside contributions from his children, fellow musicians including Mick Jagger and Chrissie Hynde, and archival materials from his late wife Linda. The documentary candidly addresses criticism of McCartney's solo work, the murder of John Lennon, his detention in a Japanese prison, and his controversial decision to sue the other Beatles members over manager Allen Klein, whom McCartney believed was defrauding the band. McCartney discussed in the Q&A how he ultimately decided not to pursue the lawsuit, believing it would alienate public opinion against him.
