Los Angeles power-pop band Jawdropped have released a new single, “Cup”, ahead of their debut album Secret To Spare. The song is presented as a melodic but bittersweet singalong about the gap between idealised expectations and the realities of pursuing ambitions in Los Angeles.

The band say “Cup” revisits a character from their older song “Star”, who arrives in LA hopeful but ultimately burns out and feels isolated. A video directed by Jack Dione accompanies the release, while Secret To Spare is due on 18 September via Transgressive and Canvasback.
