Jeff Daniels To Star In ‘Bannerman’ TV Series For AMC & Netflix
Jeff Daniels will star in AMC’s new drama series *Bannerman*, adapted from John R. Maxim’s spy novels and co-produced with Netflix. The casting marks Daniels’ return to a starring role in a series and is the first announced for the show, which is the first project under AMC Studios’ co-production agreement with Netflix.
The series follows covert operative Paul Bannerman as he tries to help assassins retire to suburban Connecticut, where old enemies and other threats complicate their plans. Daniels plays Raymond Lesko, a former NYPD detective drawn back into danger when his daughter dates a man he suspects is more dangerous than himself. AMC will air the series in the US and Canada, with Netflix carrying it there 90 days after the season finale; the partners will debut episodes together in Australia, New Zealand and Spain, while Netflix has exclusive rights elsewhere.
