Jenna Ortega has revealed that the chainsaw used in Sabrina Carpenter’s “Taste” music video had an apparent reference to Carpenter’s hit “Espresso”, though she could not remember its exact name. The detail adds to the deliberately camp, cinematic style of the video, in which Ortega and Carpenter engage in increasingly violent comic confrontations.

Ortega told Esquire that the prop was called something like “the Espresso 3000”, and said filming the chainsaw sequence was her favourite part because it was “really camp and fun”. She also said she joined the production only days before filming and that the action was not choreographed in advance. “Taste”, the third single from Carpenter’s 2024 album Short n’ Sweet, reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent several weeks in the top 10.
