Jennifer Lopez recreated one of Madonna's most famous music video moments while on holiday in Venice, filming herself performing the gondola choreography from the 1984 "Like a Virgin" video. The clip, which Lopez captioned "I had to do it" on X, taps into decades-long pop culture ties between the two stars, notably the 2003 MTV VMAs triple kiss with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera that Lopez was said to have missed out on being part of.

The trip marked celebrations for Lopez's 57th birthday on 24 July and her sister Lynda's 55th on 14 June. Her homage follows a similar recreation earlier this year by Madonna herself alongside actress Julia Garner, filmed while Madonna was in Venice shooting scenes for the second season of Apple TV's "The Studio". Separately, Lopez released the track "Everything's Fine" with Brazilian musician Alok in June, issued in "AM" and "PM" versions.
