A new trailer has been released for The Social Reckoning, Aaron Sorkin’s forthcoming film about Facebook’s alleged role in amplifying harmful and extremist content. The drama revisits issues raised by whistle-blower Frances Haugen and journalist Jeff Horwitz, presenting Facebook’s algorithms and corporate response as central to the story.

Mikey Madison plays Haugen, who gives information to Jeremy Allen White’s Horwitz after a friend is radicalised online; Jeremy Strong portrays Mark Zuckerberg, with Wunmi Mosaku as an image adviser. Sorkin wrote and directed the film, which is based on reporting published by The Wall Street Journal in 2021 and is scheduled for a Sony Pictures cinema release on 9 October.
