Jesse Eisenberg’s ‘The Debut’ & Fred Cavayé’s ‘Les Misérables’ Among Six New Titles In San Sebastián Official Selection
Six films, including Jesse Eisenberg’s The Debut and Fred Cavayé’s new adaptation of Les Misérables, have been added to the Official Selection competition at the 2026 San Sebastián Film Festival. The announcement expands the festival’s high-profile line-up and puts the directors’ work in contention alongside previously revealed titles from filmmakers including Mike Leigh.
Eisenberg’s third feature as director stars Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti, while Cavayé’s film reinterprets Victor Hugo’s novel. The other additions are Amanda Kernell’s Brace Your Heart, Gabriel Martins’s On Behalf of My Son, Ah Biao’s Border and Tony Vahl’s debut Krux; the six join ten already announced competition films. The festival will run in San Sebastián from 18 to 26 September 2026.
