Jessica Chastain’s 2014 Thriller Is Officially the Perfect Watch Before It Leaves Streaming for Good

Plex is adding J.C. Chandor’s 2014 thriller *A Most Violent Year* for free from 1 November, giving viewers a chance to watch Jessica Chastain in a better-reviewed film before it leaves streaming. The recommendation follows the poor reception of *Other Mommy*, the 2026 horror film starring Chastain, despite its box-office success.

Oscar Isaac co-stars as a fuel supplier trying to protect his family and business while holding to his moral principles amid violence and corruption. David Oyelowo and Albert Brooks also feature; the film received positive reviews, and Chastain won several critics’ association awards for her supporting performance.
