Jessica Chastain’s New Maternal Nightmare Is Officially Here in Horrifying First Trailer
A first trailer has been released for "Other Mommy," a horror film directed by Rob Savage and starring Jessica Chastain, ahead of its October cinema release. The film follows Ursula, a mother in a troubled marriage whose family life deteriorates further when a sinister entity resembling her begins to threaten them, and it arrives amid a particularly strong year for the horror genre.
The film is based on Josh Malerman's 2024 novel "Incidents Around the House" and sees Chastain play dual roles as both Ursula and the menacing double dubbed "Other Mommy" by her eight-year-old daughter, Bela, played by Arabella Olivia Clark. The teaser, which had already been shown to cinema audiences ahead of Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey," depicts Ursula's seemingly loving demeanour giving way to something monstrous when her husband, Russ (Jay Duplass), discovers the creature in a twisted, inhuman form. The cast also includes Dichen Lachman, Karen Allen, Sean Kaufman, Adam Silver and Carrie Dimaculangan.
