Polygon has released details on the first trailer for Ghost Soldier, an action-thriller starring Jim Caviezel in an against-type role as a righteous, gun-toting former special forces operative. The casting is notable because Caviezel is best known for religious dramas such as The Passion of the Christ and Sound of Freedom, whereas this film sees him deploying futuristic stealth technology and lethal military skills against corporate hitmen, in the vein of films like John Wick, The Beekeeper and The Equalizer.

Caviezel plays Henry "Fitz" Fitzgerald, a reclusive off-grid veteran and weapons developer who takes up arms when the Bahraini-owned conglomerate Brownstone Interworks tries to violently seize his and his neighbours' land. Directed by William Eubank (Land of Bad, Underwater) from a script by Chris Papasadero, the PG-13 film also stars Shea Whigham, Olivia Thirlby, Beau Knapp and Garret Dillahunt, and features Ghost Recon-style gadgets including an invisibility cloak and night-vision gear.
