Jim James, best known as the frontman of My Morning Jacket, has released "Wowed Out", the title track from his upcoming solo album, marking his first solo record in eight years. The song follows June's announcement of the album and the previously shared single "Come Again", continuing the record's warm, psychedelic sound built around shimmering keyboards and uplifting lyrics.

James has said the album draws inspiration from spiritual, meditative recordings such as Alice Coltrane's organ-led devotional music, aiming for songs that unfold gradually rather than building to a dramatic climax like a big chorus or guitar solo. A video for "Wowed Out", directed by W.G. Rickel, has also been released alongside the track. Wowed Out is due out on 28 August via ATO Records, with pre-orders now available.
