Jimothy the Raccoon is already in Skyrim and Stardew Valley

Polygon · 3 hours ago

Jimothy, a raccoon with an unusual gait living near Seattle, has become a viral internet sensation and has now been added to the video games The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and Stardew Valley by fan modders. The raccoon's distinctive appearance stems from short spine syndrome, a rare genetic condition, and his sudden fame after a resident filmed him strolling through the Ballard neighbourhood has inspired memes, fan art and now playable tributes across multiple platforms.

Modder triptherift added Jimothy to Skyrim as a wildlife creature at the request of Discord community members, while Stardew Valley players can get him via two separate mods: one from SmolHooman adding him as a custom pet, and another from kirbysteaks making him a purchasable farm animal from Marnie who can yield trash, seeds and occasionally treasure. Blizzard Entertainment has already given Jimothy an in-game tribute in World of Warcraft, fuelling speculation that official appearances in bigger titles, possibly even Fortnite, could follow.
