BLACKPINK’s JISOO appeared on Hot Ones, where she discussed her forthcoming debut solo album and explained that moving beyond group work made her want to explore her own artistic identity more fully. Her comments matter because the album will be her first full-length solo release following BLACKPINK’s continued global success and her 2025 EP, AMORTAGE.

JISOO said she aimed to include musical styles she enjoys to give the record greater variety and colour. She handled the spicy-wing challenge better than most of her bandmates, although she eventually turned to milk and ice cream; she also said eating spicy food before concerts relaxes her throat, helps her sing and relieves stress. BLACKPINK’s EP Deadline reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200 after the group’s recent comeback tour.
