Joe Jonas described a frightening accident in Portofino, Italy, after he fell between a yacht and a smaller tender boat while transferring to shore for a restaurant visit. A wave pushed the tender away as he stepped across, leaving him in the water and prompting him to think immediately about contacting his children.

The singer said a first mate also fell while trying to help, and Jonas eventually climbed aboard the tender after initially slipping back into the water. He later reflected that the incident could have ended far worse and said it reminded him to slow down and stay alert, even during a luxury holiday.
