Acclaimed filmmaker Joe Wright has been attached to direct a feature film based on Australian novelist Tim Winton's science fiction thriller 'Juice', with BAFTA and Emmy-winning screenwriter Abi Morgan penning the adaptation for production company Working Title Films. Wright brings a track record of prestigious dramatic films including Atonement and Darkest Hour, whilst Working Title has amassed over 150 credits generating billions at the global box office.

The story is set in a world fractured by climate catastrophe, where a young family man is conscripted into a covert resistance group tasked with pursuing the wealthy individuals deemed responsible for global collapse. When a mission goes awry, he becomes a fugitive struggling to survive in a hostile landscape. Both Wright and Winton have publicly endorsed the project, with Wright characterising it as an urgent narrative combining intimate family drama with broader social commentary.
