John Errol – “Float”
Los Angeles musician John Errol has released a new single called "Float," his first new music since his 2021 album *Inferno*. The track continues his genre-blending indie-pop style, which draws on influences ranging from Britney Spears to David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails.
Errol has described the song as inspired by a real experience of swimming in a lake at night while trying to evade something lurking beneath the water. He said the track transforms that memory into a "revenge fantasy" in which prey becomes predator, blending violence and intimacy into something more menacing, encapsulated by the phrase "kill or be killed."
