John Leguizamo said he was effectively unable to see for 12 to 14 hours a day while filming Christopher Nolan’s *The Odyssey*, because of contact lenses used for his role as Eumaeus, Odysseus’s blind servant. He said the impairment meant he needed assistance with basic activities on set, illustrating the physical demands of the production.

Leguizamo told Entertainment Tonight that he could not use his phone, read or make calls, and that his other eye was not clear enough to compensate. *The Odyssey* follows Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, on his ten-year journey home after the Trojan War; it also features Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.
