John Stamos gave an emotional speech about fatherhood at The Creative Coalition's 12th Annual TV Humanitarian Awards, describing how becoming a father to his son Billy transformed his decades-long advocacy for Childhelp, a child abuse treatment and prevention charity. The "Full House" actor, who has supported the organisation for nearly 40 years, said watching his own child depend on him made him more acutely aware of children who lack safety and protection, a realisation that has deepened his sense of responsibility to use his platform for the cause.

Stamos received the Creative Coalition award from his close friend, comedian Jeffrey Ross, and also discussed his forthcoming children's book, "Love From Above", co-written with eight-year-old Billy and illustrated with his own watercolour paintings, due for release on 20 April 2027. The book explores grief and the loss of his parents through family folklore involving hummingbirds. Other honourees at the event, hosted by Variety's Marc Malkin, included "The Pitt" writer Simran Baidwan, Famke Janssen, Cara Buono, Lisa Ann Walter and Mary Lou Belli, each recognised for humanitarian or advocacy work in areas such as caregiving and gender equity.
