Johnny Depp Makes Surprise Comic-Con Appearance as Ebenezer Scrooge

Johnny Depp made an unannounced appearance at San Diego Comic-Con dressed as Ebenezer Scrooge to promote Paramount’s forthcoming film “Ebenezer”. The appearance drew a large crowd in the city’s Gaslamp district and gave fans an early look at Depp’s portrayal of the Dickens character ahead of the film’s cinema release.
Depp appeared outside a temporary “Scrooge and Marley” shop at about 2.30pm on Thursday, after fans had begun gathering shortly after midday. Directed by Ti West, “Ebenezer” also features Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, Tramell Tillman and Ian McKellen, and is scheduled for release on 13 November.
