Romeo Bongiovi, Jon Bon Jovi’s 22-year-old son, has spoken about choosing a career in music after finding a sense of belonging while visiting the University of Miami as a teenager. His comments matter because they show that, despite his family background, he initially felt uncertain about studying and pursuing music professionally.

Bongiovi graduated from the university’s Frost School of Music in May and co-founded the band Lawn with Daniel Coppola and Cliff Dobson. The group released its debut EP, House Party Hero, in April 2025, and Jon Bon Jovi has publicly praised its music, although he initially questioned the band’s name.
