Jon Snow’s Official ‘Game of Thrones’ Return Delayed to 2027

Collider · 5 hours ago

A new Game of Thrones strategy game, War for Westeros, has had its release pushed back from late 2026 to early 2027, developer Playside announced. The game lets players control fan-favourite characters, including Jon Snow, in a confrontation with the Night King that was set up for years in the original series but never properly resolved before it ended.

The delay comes during what has otherwise been a strong year for the Game of Thrones franchise, with HBO airing two spin-offs simultaneously for the first time: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which has already been renewed for a second season set to arrive in 2027, and the third season of House of the Dragon, which is due to conclude with one further season. Playside offered no detailed explanation for the delay, simply stating it wanted to provide an update on the "planned release window" before confirming the game would now launch in early 2027 rather than by the end of 2026.
