Josh Duhamel, James Franco, Paula Patton & Summer H. Howell Wrap On Action-Thriller ‘Runaway’
Actors Josh Duhamel, James Franco, Paula Patton and Summer H. Howell have completed filming on "Runaway", a new independent action-thriller directed by James C. Clayton for IndustryWorks Studios. The project brings together a notable ensemble cast for a mid-budget genre film, the kind of production that has become a mainstay for streaming and ancillary markets.
The film follows veteran detective Lou Coleman (Duhamel), who takes a solitary drive into the wilderness after his estranged daughter's death, only to end up protecting a teenage runaway (Howell) who holds evidence implicating a town in criminal activity. This puts him at odds with a corrupt local sheriff (Franco) and his militia. The screenplay is by Jason Carroll, Marc Petey, Danny Mac and Paul Birkett, with the cast rounded out by Adam Beach and Alex Essoe; Jonnie Broi and Marc Petey produced through Play x Play Studios, alongside executive producers including Evan Tylor, Caterina Scrivano, Keli Price and Zach Steele.
