Jumanji: Open World Trailer Embraces Respawns, Boss Fights, And Everything Else That Makes Games Fun

GameSpot · 4 hours ago

Sony has unveiled a trailer for Jumanji: Open World, the next instalment in the franchise, which brings the game’s dangers into the real world. The footage leans into video-game conventions such as respawns, boss battles and characters stuck in “demo mode”, signalling a comic reversal of the recent films’ premise.

The story reunites Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan, whose game avatars appear outside Jumanji as altered versions of themselves. Jungle animals and other threats cause disruption in a New England town, while the human players must return to the game; the film is scheduled for release on 25 December 2026.
