K-pop Entertainment Company Hello82 Aims to Plant a Flag in Festival Market with Inaugural 82World

The Hollywood Reporter ·

Hello82 is launching 82World, a two-day K-pop festival in Los Angeles, hoping to establish a lasting place in a market where several previously announced events never made it past logistical hurdles. Co-founder Sang H. Cho says the festival is intended to feel grassroots and community-focused, building on the company’s work connecting artists with fans.

The event is scheduled for 17 and 18 October at L.A. State Historic Park. P1Harmony headlines Saturday alongside acts including Ampers&one, Be:First and Xikers, while ATEEZ headlines Sunday, with daytime activities centred on the group. Hello82 began selling tickets before naming artists or dates and sold more than expected in the first two hours; the company says the festival is part of its wider relationship with fans, rather than a standalone profit-making venture.

  • Hello82 is bringing its first 82World festival to Los Angeles.
  • P1Harmony and ATEEZ headline the two days.
  • Early tickets sold faster than expected, before the line-up was announced.

Both sides, in good faith

The strongest fair case each way — we don't pick a winner.

The case for

A dedicated K-pop festival could give fans a shared, community-focused space and bring artists closer to audiences through performances and daytime activities. Hello82’s early ticket sales suggest real interest, and treating the event as part of a longer-term relationship with fans may help it build continuity in a festival market where earlier plans stalled.

The case against

Launching a large festival in a market where other announced events have struggled with logistics carries a risk of disappointment if planning or delivery falls short. Selling tickets before revealing the dates or performers also asks fans to commit with limited information, while a company’s community-focused aims do not by themselves establish that the event will be sustainable or meet fans’ expectations.
