Kacey Musgraves has released the music video for "Mexico Honey," a fan-favourite track from her latest album, Middle of Nowhere. The video follows Musgraves on a romance-tinged adventure with a mysterious man, featuring a car journey, an intimate hotel-room scene and a flirtatious club encounter, and includes a moment in which she appears nude with her back to the camera. The release continues to build interest around the album, which Musgraves has said draws heavily on Mexican musical and cultural influences.

Musgraves previously told MuchMusic that the song stemmed from a personal, almost "cosmic" experience that ended a creative dry spell. She has also spoken about how Middle of Nowhere blends country music with regional Mexican sounds and instrumentation, citing shared roots between mariachi and traditional Western music, particularly reflecting Texas's cultural heritage. With the album now out, Musgraves is preparing for a North American tour beginning in Chicago and taking in New York, Nashville, Austin and Los Angeles, before concluding with back-to-back shows in Seattle in October.
