Kali Malone has announced a new solo album, Burning Song, the follow-up to her 2024 record All Life Long. She recorded it at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig, the church where Johann Sebastian Bach spent his final 27 years as cantor and where he was later buried, performing on its modern Bach Organ, which is built to baroque tunings and temperament. The announcement is significant for fans of contemporary organ and drone music, linking Malone's ongoing exploration of the instrument to one of its most historically resonant settings.

She was joined on the record by Stephen O'Malley on guitar and Lucy Railton on cello, the same trio behind her 2023 album Does Spring Hide Its Joy. The seven-track album includes the newly released single "Heavy With Fruit", and Malone has lined up a European tour spanning Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia and England into early 2026, featuring a mix of electronic, solo organ and full Burning Song sets. The announcement follows a busy period for Malone, including collaborations with Drew McDowall and Leila Bordreuil, and last year's reissue of her acclaimed album The Sacrificial Code.
