Kamelot guitarist Thomas Youngblood says the band deliberately tours less frequently than many peers to protect members’ wellbeing, relationships and enthusiasm for performing. He argues that carefully planned schedules and comfortable conditions help ensure the group remains energised on stage, even as touring costs continue to rise.

Youngblood said pre-sales for Kamelot’s forthcoming North American tour have been strong, despite wider concern about late ticket buying and unsold seats. He added that the band has only cancelled one tour, around 15 years ago after a member left, and said fans can rely on its commitments; Kamelot’s new album, “Dark Asylum”, is due on 28 August via Napalm Records.
