As jurors in Lindsay Clancy's Massachusetts murder trial entered a sixth day of deliberations without reaching a unanimous verdict, one of Karen Read's former defence lawyers, David Yannetti, praised Clancy's attorney, Kevin Reddington, for his handling of the case. Yannetti drew parallels between the two closely watched trials, noting both involved professional women with no prior criminal record who attracted strong public sympathy, and described the pressure facing defence lawyers as jurors remain out as among the most stressful parts of any trial.

Clancy faces three murder charges over the deaths of her children, Cora (5), Dawson (3) and Callan (8 months), with jurors able to convict on first- or second-degree murder or manslaughter, or find her not criminally responsible under an insanity defence. Judge William Sullivan rejected a request from Reddington to remove an apparent lone holdout juror after receiving a note about the deadlock, reminding jurors of the reasonable-doubt standard before sending them back to deliberate; they are due to resume for a seventh day. Yannetti, who represented Read through both her trials — one ending in a deadlocked jury after five days in 2024, the other in acquittal last year after four days of deliberation — described the waiting period for lawyers and defendants as "torture".
