Jio Studios and Sikhya Entertainment have released a teaser for Karthik Subbaraj's Tamil-language film "Dorothy" ahead of its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it will screen in the festival's Centrepiece programme. The film marks Subbaraj's tenth feature and is set in rural India in the early 1990s, exploring friendship, compassion and hope against a backdrop of caste, violence and prejudice.

"Dorothy" stars Sananth, Rishikanth and Keerthy Suresh, with a score composed by veteran musician Ilaiyaraaja, marking his 1,540th film. It is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, with Jio Studios and Sikhya Entertainment behind the project. Subbaraj previously directed acclaimed titles including "Pizza", "Jigarthanda" and "Petta", while Sikhya Entertainment has backed Oscar-winning works such as "Period. End of Sentence." and "The Elephant Whisperers".
