Kathy Griffin has claimed that Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl blanked her during an encounter at a US airport, an incident she attributes to her 2017 photo scandal involving Donald Trump. Griffin caused widespread controversy that year after posing with a fake, bloodied severed head resembling the president, which led to public backlash, an apology and the loss of hosting jobs and endorsements. She suggests the fallout has cost her friendships within the entertainment industry, with Grohl cited as a notable example.

Speaking on her podcast Talk Your Head Off, Griffin said she and Grohl "used to be kind of friendly" but that he "acted like he didn't know me" when they crossed paths at a newsstand in New York's JFK Airport, and again failed to acknowledge her despite sitting two seats away on the same flight. She said she chose not to approach him to avoid awkwardness, referring to him afterwards as her "former friend" while still praising him as "an A-plus musician". Grohl has not publicly responded to the claims.
