KATSEYE Makes Brief Daisy Chain Fields Festival Appearance After Canceling Performance
Three current members of KATSEYE — Yoonchae, Lara and Megan — made a surprise brief appearance at Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields festival on Saturday, despite the group having withdrawn from its scheduled performance after Megan sprained her ankle in rehearsal. Rather than perform, the trio walked on stage to introduce the charity Baby2Baby just before Devon Again, the act brought in to cover their slot, took over. The moment let the group show support for Rodrigo's inaugural charity festival even though medical advice kept Megan from performing.
The withdrawal was announced on Thursday, with Megan explaining on Friday that doctors had told her to stay off the ankle to be ready for KATSEYE's upcoming tour. The setback came shortly after the group scored its first US Billboard 200 number one with the EP "WILD". KATSEYE's active line-up is currently Yoonchae, Lara, Megan and Daniela (who did not appear on stage), while members Manon and Sophia remain on hiatus for wellness and mental health reasons respectively. Rodrigo separately announced the festival had raised $10 million (about £7.9 million) for ten women's charities, including Planned Parenthood and Baby2Baby.
