A promotional sketch released ahead of the show features the pair humorously discussing whether they should "lock in" for the performance or simply relax, with KATSEYE ultimately joining Brunson in maintaining intense focus. This appearance marks a significant moment for both acts, as Brunson celebrates his recent NBA championship victory with the New York Knicks and KATSEYE promotes their chart-topping album.

The promo showcases KATSEYE as a four-piece for this appearance, notably absent member Sophia having announced a hiatus from the group in August. Whilst Sophia's original statement indicated she would sit out the first leg of their Wildworld Tour in September, her status for the SNL performance remained uncertain until now. KATSEYE's self-titled WILD album topped the Billboard 200 chart, and Brunson led the Knicks to victory in the NBA Finals last June.
