Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has said he remains hopeful that Spider-Man and Venom could eventually cross paths on screen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though he stopped short of confirming any concrete plans. Speaking alongside producer Amy Pascal on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, the pair gave only guarded, non-committal answers when pressed on the long-rumoured team-up between Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Tom Hardy's Venom, a pairing fans have wanted for years despite the characters never sharing the screen.

When asked directly how close the studio had come to making the crossover happen, Feige and Pascal each simply said they "have hope", offering no further detail. They did, however, confirm that a separate animated Venom film is still in development, with Final Destination: Bloodlines directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein attached and Pascal and Hardy reportedly involved, though plot details remain unknown. The comments follow similar hedging from Holland himself, who recently told a fan "one day" the symbiote would appear, and come as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which IGN scored 7/10, opens in cinemas on 31 July.
